...and all the surreal talk of receiving OBE's and the team being asked to turn up on shows from GMTV (if it still exists) to Blue Peter? Just a thought...

Heh, 90% of those polled in August would rather have seen England retain the Ashes than win the World Cup, so I doubt that winning a tri-series will generate that kind of hysteria! Having said that this is England's first win in an important overseas ODI series for, ooh, nine years? Last time it was Adam Hollioake in charge at Sharjah which shows how long ago it was. England may still be poo at ODIs overall but if we can ride this level of confidence and add KP to Colly, who knows?

It was a great turn around by England, Full credit to Paul Collingwood and England Team. They have again proved that cricket is a game of uncertainties and one cannot take anything for granted. They have also showed other teams in the world that Australia can be defeated if you play well and put them under pressure.

Give them all a knighthood!Australia, your country is uncouth!

seriously though-make no mistake about it, this is one hell of an achievement and no it wont erase the pain of the whitewash but it is a stepping stone for the future. The resurgence of plunket along with collingwood's last 3 performances has for me been the one of the highlights of the tour when you consider for the first month and a half he was in the wilderness.Sadly i feel with the gelling of this team and the return of vaughan, pieterson and anderson, this now will be the end of the road for darren gough.

I Hope not.

Lets see how we fare in next months world cup.

If we manage to win that, then certainly expect a repeat of the Ashes celebrations of a couple of years ago
