They have no idea.. thats why they were fishing for answers. I think they sit at a table on Oahu drinkiing Mojhito's and switch story lines each week. Big fan though....on really I am.

They "say" they know how its going to end, but I don't believe them.
This show has totally jumped the shark since they've added many new characters, they already have too many. And the 'main' characters are all over the island now...
Lets see we have:
Penny somewhere in the states. Those guys in the blizzard who look like they saw the island (or at least the energy blast).
Kate Sawyer and Karl.
The Losties at the camp on the beach.
The Losties at the camp at the caves (unless they've moved by now).
Juliet, Ben, those Others.
The other Others that walk about in bare feet and are silent.
Danielle Rousseau.
Alex, the "wild child".
Michael and Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalt.
TOO many people, no wonder nothing gets answered.

I absolutely believe they don't know how it is going to end. Although I read an article a couple of weeks ago that they are working on an ending for when the time comes.

I would agree since they recently posted a question on Yahoo! Answers asking what people thought the "Smoke Monster" was.
