I've just formated my computer and before I formated it I saved all my music in the memory stick so now that I've formated the pc I put them back but I can only play mp3 and not normal format which I copy from cd's...

It giving me the message to connect to the internet does that make any sense?

Thanx!

Actually WMediaPlayer or anyone needs codecs to play any media type. In ur case u don't have codecs installed and that's why it is giving message to connect to the internet to download them.
If u don't wanna connect to net u can install K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. It will almost all codecs to play anything in ur PC.

Your music is paid for with a license music, basically you have to regain the license, you should have saved the license also. That may not be possible.
Why did you format the hard drive? Sounds drastic, I should not tell you but get the replacement records from somewhere like limewire, and yes I know that many organisations dont like you doing it but until the same organisations sort there lives out people that have lost all their records that they have paid for will want to replace that which they have lost.

Basically the drivers you had to play the other formats went out the window when you formatted. Sounds like you're going to have to download them again or let whatever you are using download the drivers from the internet again.

What are the other file formats you're having troubles with?

If they're stuff like .ogg, you'll need to redownload the codecs and the Windows Media Player plugin to play them.

If they're .wma, it's possible you downloaded them on a subscription that expired or that you don't have any more, so they've become deactivated.
