The opium growers and their families are dirt poor. It's very sad considering that the drug lords and their governments are the ones making the huge profit. As for people here in the USA....the people affected most are the buyers, users and their families/loved ones.

Americans.because Opium comes from a flower called Amapola which delivers pollen called opium.
This Pollen is treat with chemicals to get Heroine.or Morphine. which has a very heavy use in U.S

Opium addicts and may not be all but people living in countries that have flimsy laws, rules and regulations on prohibited drugs. Too bad, these situations are paramount in poorer or underdeveloped countries.
