Hamas is a belief and an organization. Neither can retire. What kind of debate would ask that ? The belief in killing a race of people just because you don't like them is a belief in hatred. The belief in hatred should be dropped. Hamas today kills Palestinians as well as Jews. Hamas, by refusing to accept Israels right to exist and to have their own country is what is at issue. Hamas's beliefs in hatred is what needs to retire the rest is just a name.

Why should Hamas retire? They were elected by the Palestinian people. It's up to the Palestinian people to un-elect them.
It would be preferably if Hamas were to explicitly recognize Israel's right to exist, rather than just agree to honor treaties entered into by Abbas/Fatah. Then Israel and "the Quartet" could release the aid money that the Palestinians so desparately need.

hamas should retire because they are
1.elected and choosen in the elections monitered bye the
european union and united nations
2.bcoz. hamas is fighting against foriedner occupation forces and bcoz they dont have missiles and fighter jets and anti aircraft systems.
3. hamas should retire bcoz they were elected with the mandat which they cant accomplish.
4.hamas should retire and use their force out being out of the government untill people and international community (this term always mean "united states") recall them

As long as Hamas is in charge and refuses to recognise Israels right to exist the Palestinians will not get the economic support from the west that it depends upon.

It depends on who you are asking that question to. If your asking them, I dont think there are ANY REASONS TO RETIRE in their eyes. They don't care about the blood of their own they have caused their own nor of any innocent people. They have power and wealth and are feared . Governments in countires they are strong in fear even denouncing them.
If you ask me why I would say. IF THEY DON'T. SOONER OR LATER ISRAEL IS GOING TO COME UP WITH A VERY UNPLEASANT WAY ONCE AND FOR ALL TO STOP THEM.
