The most immediate treatment should be running cold water over the burn. This will minimize the extent of the burn depth by cooling it off and stopping the damage. The next followup treatment can be the use of aloe vera. Simply snap off the tip of a stalk and apply the gooey sap to the burn. Be sure to leave any blister on the skin intact because this protects the wound from becoming infected and allows the wound to heal naturally. If the blister should pop be sure to keep it clean and covered with a fresh band-aid.

With the note that the questioner said minor skin burns from the kitchen ..here's my answer.. Run it under cool, not cold water for several minutes until the stinging subsides. If you have any hemorrhoid cream available , dab it on the burn and cover with a band aid. Change several times a day until healed.
You can also apply Noxzema skin creme because it contain silverdine which is really good for burns. Aloe is always a stand by too.

Run the burn under plenty of cold water, dont use any other source of treatment. Water will reduce the affected skin and cool the area that is burnt. Dont use butter or any other ointment. Your doctor would say so too. Apply the method to the burnt area for at least 15 minutes. If pain persists see a doctor. Steam burns might look minor but can be very serious due to the heat killing nerves in your skin. You might not feel it because the nerves are killed, but if it is steam see your doctor ASAP. This is because you are at risk of infection

For minor burns, cuts and wounds, Rescue Remedy is the first and best choice. Available as a liquid or as a spray in most of the health food stores or online (Bach Flower Essences or Remedies), it gives quick relief.
Calendula lotion is another good choice.

First Aid for burns; plunge the affected part into cold water for a minimum of 5 minutes. If blistered, or skin is broken, you will need to see a doctor as these kind of wounds get infected very easily.

Aloe Vera plant. Break a piece off your plant and immediately put the gel onto the burn. It will soothe it and you will not get a blister. The aloe vera is also excellent for poison ivy. Relieves the itch and dries it out.
