It is defiantly possible. I experienced it my self when i was getting ready to go to bed when all of the sudden, i see a really bright lightning bolt and a loud sound of thunder and when i looked outside, it was snowing really hard. It can happen anywhere. It usually happens when a big snow storm is in affect

I remember it happening once when I lived in NW suburbs of Illinois, But with the strange weather & events we have been having over the past few years, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened a lot more often.

Yes it is possible. Over here in Aberdeen Scotland we experienced this in Early 2006. A sight to behold for sure.
