Recently i hurt my back moving some paving slabs. Not one normally to moan but this is a really annoying pain, Its not constant but when i sit in certain positions or move about it like send a shock wave down my spine.

Never really had any back problems before, Don't really like going to my Doctors as i normally recover better on my own without the aid of medication plus the fact i hate the place.

The strange bit is my skin burns where i hurt my back, Like when you get a Chinese burn lol. But there are no marks on my back whats so ever. It also feels like there is a lot of pressure at the base of my my spine.

Any help would be great
Went to bet at 10pm last night and it was 4am by the time i could sleep.

Ok just looked in the mirror and there is a red mark now showing and if i lightly rub the area it burns like hell. Could this just be a muscle problem.

I too am overweight and have 4 herniated disc's and arthritis in my lower back, which causes me to have great pain down my left leg into my left hip that includes extreme burning, I believe that this condition was brought on by a horrible fall I had outside our house. As I already know that being overweight is not helping the matter any. I have started with my Primary Care Physician and then to a Spinal Surgeon who has sent me to the Pain Management Center, at this point if you are having great pain which is caused by inflammation of the nerves due to pressure from the disc's or as I am having and arthritis, I suggest that you talk to your Dr. about the Drug Lyrica which is what I am on, I don't know what your situation is and I would not wish this condition on my worst enemy, but a regiment of the following pills have helped my WALK again (though it's not for a great amount of time in a normal position but I am walking) 1. Diclofenac/ Anti-inflammatory 2. Lyrica 3. Lore tab, though I also add Paxil in there due to the pain factor and how it takes it toll mentally as well as physically. I hope that this has helped.

I have that same issue and no doctor has been able to tell me what the problem is. They have mis diagnosed it as a sprain for it has been 2 years and I have found very little relief. I have learned to live with the pain.
I went to a chiropractor for over a year and only found mild to medium relief, but a few days later the pain would be right back.
I would highly recommend seeing a doctor and not wait around for it to heal on its own.
In the mean while R-I-C-E it.
Rest
Ice
Compression
Elevation
It won't heal it, but you should find some comfort in this. Also, take some over the counter ibuprofen or acetimenophin as a last option alleve *(its toxic on the liver).

GOOD LUCK!!!

Get some Rescue Remedy or Rescue Remedy Spray and use it on the area. Most of the time, it works. It is a Bach Flower Remedy or Essence and is available in health food stores or online.
