Charles was very good spelling words like "wright, now, gota and soldiers".

Because he knew how to spell, Charles was able to ask strangers for assistance in doing his homework.

The strangers were so impressed with Charles' proper spelling and grammer, that they didn't mind helping Charles; as a result, Charles recieved very good grades in school.

Immediately, I can't think of anything 'right' that Charles I did. He was a thoroughly bad king, who was totally out of touch with his country and subjects. It's why he is the only king whose head has been chopped off. The fact that he didn't 'murder' anyone personally, but relied on minions to do the job, is hardly to his merit. The was the way all kings behaved. And, actually, he wasn't known for being particularly bloodthirsty - which might earn him half a gold star.

I would have to agree with andy....He loved and died for his country..He did not believe in parliment having full control over his counrty and you have to remember in 1640 AD he was the KING of England and every right to the throne.. I'm sure he did some good things for his country as well as some not so good... He did not want to drag his beloved country into a long civil war that cost thousands of lives.. if you need more info you should google" english civil war"... it's very interesting and somewhat complicated( religion is involved..that's what helped start the conflict...like most wars..)

He tried to keep his kingdom(s) united against what he saw as an illegal and unjust threat from parliament believing he was acting in God's interest, and even many of those who supported parliament had never foresaw or desired that the country would be dragged into a costly and destructive civil war.

He aquired a very LARGE collection of fine art paintings. Second to Catherine the Great, this is probably the largest collection of art ever amassed.
