A good leader needs to understand the people who serve them, be able to come to the right decision quickly, be able to admit when they are wrong, and be able to see the world around them unbiasedly.

A good listener, a good strategist, able to make decisions based on what s/he sees not some of what s/he hears, is undaunted when faced with danger.
