i have short hair and i dont get how i can make it nice and spiky so that it can stand up all ways in the back in the front everywhere what can i use how can it be made easyer how will it stay that way

I have really curly hair, most people just use some kind of hair wax but that doesn't really work for me. School glue will do the job if wax wont, I've seen some impressive mohawks done with glue and it even manages to keep my hair not -curled with a bit of effort.
