Animals have feelings too...just like we do...although they may not be able to feel it the exact way we do....they feel love, hurt, neglect, happiness...& they show it....

I have 2 cats...both males...Lion & Lucky.....they are my special guys...they know I am the one that takes care of them & that I do what I can to make sure they are fed & healthy....although they hate vet visits...they are ok after a few min's of loving rubs...

My cats always want attention & when they jump in my lap or on the couch next to me....they are already purring before I even touch them....to me...that means they love me....

When I ask Lucky if he loves me...he always does this really long high meow....& then puts his paw on me....which makes me think he is saying yes....lol...
When I ask Lion....he rolls over onto his back & wants his belly rubbed...when I pet his belly...he wraps his back feet around my arm...& purrs.....

LOL....

The love an animal has is totally different from what humans feel I think- but do they feel it yes I do believe they do- they know when they are loved and even if the person who is suppose to care for them mis-treats them- they still will be there to greet them with a wagging tail and a smile (?) on their faces-uncondtional love is what it's called-no matter what they love us!

They must feel some paternal instinct, some that is. Some are highly protective of their young, and some lay egss and say " No room in the house for you" Do they feel love? Probably equivalent to what us humans call love.

I have been lucky enough to have a lot of animals love me.
They show their love in so many ways, just because they can't talk doesn't mean they don't feel it.

I believe they are, look at the way elephants act, look at the cats behave, how they can just get along with each other and lick each other and love each other. It is amazing what animals can teach us. If we only watch. =)
