Wouldn't it make sense for those who can afford their own private health insurance to be able to use a private provider, but those who cannot be allowed some sort of bare minimum coverage by the government? That seems like a win-win situation for everyone.

Have you ever seen a SOCIALIZED hospital, Well I have go to England or Canada. I'll bet you get on a plane and come back here, Because you have a choice they don't and those lucky citizen's pay as high as 45% tax. Yea it's its a win win situation for the rich and the poor but us middle class pay more taxes and we can some what afford insurance. LOOK this up, Bill Gates you know the Billionaire, Pays on his personal income tax no more than a family earning $95,000.00, yup that is a fact and it can't be denied. That is all due to our wonderful governments tax code. If we payed a flat tax of 4% that's FOUR PERCENT with no deductions and tax breaks and special Tax shelters for no one the government would have more money than it needed. ANOTHER FACT THAT CAN'T BE DENIED.

We have both, universal for standard medical procedures (doctors visits, surgeries anything deemed essential) and then we have private insurance for eyeglasses, meds, private hospital rooms, dental care and even massage therapy. Taxes pay for our general coverage and then private or private supplied by your employer provides the rest. For my $600 a month in melds I pay $2.49 for a dispensing fee. My employer pays that with no deductible. You have to be prepared to pay higher taxes, to get the benefits.

*We do not pay 45% taxes...taxes are geared to income.
