please give me stories of how you put God first in your life. also what self -sacrificing thing you did; or how did you turn your life around, give me stories or your experience. please help.

Got really started turning my life around about 11 years ago or so. My first husband had died and i was lonely and homeless and living out of my van. I had bought a tape and started listening to it and a song came over it called Jesus Will Still be There by Point of Grace and God spoke to my heart and promised me he would take care of everything and for me to trust in him and that very night i had a place to stay and was not homeless anymore. Ever since then my life has changed and has been for the better. I was raised in a Christian home all my life and had a head knowledege of who God was and had legalistic views. But up until that time i did not have a heart knowledge and did not know who God really was personally.

Its difficult to tell because whenever I put God the first I tried never telling it to anybody.
May be its not necessary but just to make sure that wasn't meant for show off.
