I don't think it will ever be achieved.

No, I don't think we could ever have a truly equal society, in my opinion, this could only be achieved if the world suffered some catastrophic incident which wiped out all forms of money, precious metals or gems.

Then, man being man, he would find something else like pink pebbles with blue spots on. The person who had the most pebbles would then become the most well-off.

It can never happen, because each person have different values, desires, morals and drives. Then you would have to contend with GREED and I don't believe anything could stop this in man.

I think the best we can do is try to arrange equal access and equal competition. I agree, capitalism and communism have definitely failed in the larger respect you ask about and in even in this lesser respect.

Inequality has endured so long, hasn't it? You kindof feel that there is some underlying aspect of our nature that is just too difficult to overcome. Our history is about those who got there first. Those that got there first made the rules, and the first rule seems to be 'let's make it difficult for everybody else to catch up'.

So, I'm afraid and sorry, but my best guess is that No, there are no ways to make a society of human beings equal. But, I'm going to keep going just in case!

I doubt it very much, you may create a society that would promote equality but them you have the human aspect to add to that society and not all humans want to be equal.
To get a truly equal society you would have to get rid of any who are bourne to that society with the view they are better than others etc.
There has to be a ruler or a group to rule and controll the society and as such the society is then unequal.
Is it possible my answer is no it is not possible to create an equall society. It may be possible to create a society that gives all equal oportunities. But societies are made up of individuals ard all individuals are not the same.

No way in the world. Humans are competitive towards most things and there are people who want to lead and be lead. It has to do with reproduction and the survival of the fittest. A society may look equal or be planned to be but somehow people will try to benefit from it their own way and then the dynamics will be changed..

Absolutely not. People are individuals born with different abilities, capacities, desires, strengths and weaknesses. No society can be formed that can ignore this simple fact. Communism and socialism demand that the achievers and producers must support those of lesser ability, forcing them to either quit or escape. Capitalism does not support those who cannot produce for themselves which causes many to question its morality.
Unfortunately, we can't have both. Many have tried to find some mid-point between capitalism and socialism, but are always finding that someone will always be unsatisified.

in our dreams yes, but in real life that is highly unlikely. for a society to be equal, everyone has to be treated the same, be given the same rights and be entitled to do and say things when and as they want. however, there will always be ignorance, hatred, war which will attempt to disrupt the good of society and prevent things such as equality from taking shape and allowing it to flourish, in the way we want it to do

As long as we think in terms of politics, business and money-making, true equality is impossible. We have to transcend materialism to establish equal society.

Im afraid not, we always want to be better off than our neighbours, we want things we dont really need because the marketing genious´think that our lives will be better if we have a plasma tv and an apple mac, our societies are made up of hierachies, and indeed we need a structure to function. someone to make decisions for us! but our goverments no longer listen to us the people! there will be always be poor people and rich, men that think they are better than women and vice versa, people we need to learn to respect each other first before we even begin to contemplate equality.
It begins with education!
