Well it is easy you just have to pray and read the Bible and believe in Him.And that self sacrificing thing you do is asking Him into you heart in a simple prayer like Dear Lord thank you for this wonderful day you have given to me.I want to spend the rest of my life with you.Lord cleanse me of all my sins lord an dcome into my heart.

Wanna put god first? well im not religious but i have learnt about it alot previously.
Just pray for him everynight, weather its outloud or to yourself.
Thank him for the world you brought up in etc.
But thats relgious belieffs.
My belief however, is that there can't actually be a god, because why would he let such awful things like war and poverty continue?
