I need this information as part of a project that I'm working on for my degree in Acting. I'm more than aware that Shakespeare is thought to be best read in its original form.

Why? Shakespeare took the themes of his plays from history or plagiarised other people's stories. The beauty of Shakespeare is not the development of the drama, but the inventiveness of his use of language.
