Betting goes on and it is not worth the effort and resources we spent to satisfy our irrational moral pretentions. We have to fight more dangerous evils prevailing in the society, where we are not successful.

It should be legal, supervised by the government and taxed. It is only a social evil when it is controlled by gangsters who can afford to pay off the police and local officials to turn a blind eye to what is going on from their enormous profits.
Illegal gambling is the root of a lot of corrupt practices and spreads general apathy and disrespect for the law. Bring it into the open air where everyone can see what is going on.

our government is a bunch of gangsters- un-convicted felons from the highest office down to the remote county court judge, and prosecutor. they have made gambling legal and still are asking for more taxes in addition to the enormous sums generated through gambling. government exists by building bigger government.
