Try that

Click on network connection -> proprieties -> tcp/ip -> if you already cheesed Obtain an IP address , it have to work.
so try to chose "Use the following IP address"

LET say that your router address is "192.168.1.1"

fill the IP address
i.e. 192.168.1.a ( a= any number, NOT 1, 1 if for your router)
submask
i.e. 255.255.255.0
gateway
ie : 192.168.1.1 ( your router address )

both DNS
ie : 192.168.1.1 ( your router address )

If your laptop is receiving a signal - then you LAPTOP is wireless capable

When you try to connect through the router windows will look for a network address - this called a IP address and a default gateway - when cann't get it you will receive the message "no network address"

This is where it can get a bit complicated

Right click on the icon (near the time) that says wirless connections > then select status > then click on the tab that say support > I bet the IP address and the default gateway are empty ! Try clicking on the tab that says repair (I doubt this will work but give it a try)

Click back on the tab that says GENERAL
Then properties > you will see a little box the with a list in it > scroll down the box and look for the Internet (TCP /IP) - make sure the ip is set to automatic and every thing is set to automatic

Try connecting now

Also check the wireless zero configuration is on
Click start > RUN
type >>> SERVICES.MSC

scroll down the list and look for WIRELESS ZERO CONFIGURATION

click on it and START IT or set to automatic

Give these a try and see if still a problem

If still a problem you could set up manually but need the Defualt gate way address for the router

Another thing that could be stopping you getting a IP address if you firewall - keep these in mind

Hope this helps

Could be the router is not set to DHCP to give out IP addresses. You'll have to look in your router manual for this one!

Also, make sure the laptop network adapter is set to use get it's IP address automatically. Go to Network Connections, right-click to get properties. Select the IP Internet Protocol, Properties. Ensure "Obtain an IP Address Automatically" is selected. Reboot your pc and see if it connects.

Also, in Device Manager, make sure the wireless adapter is 'enabled'.

router isp has to coordinate with your isp . = cookies have to match ! call your isp , they need to keep you happy when you pay them.
