Yes it is completely invalid. There are numerous problems with tickles test.
1. The test is not timed. This in itself makes the test invalid.
2. The test is not normed properly at all. The average score is 120 where as average IQ is defined as 100. Actually, I don't think the test was normed at all.
3. The questions arn't powered/structured properly. All of the questions are of the same general difficulty - and its like that on purpose so most people get a lot of them right.
4. Its a sales gimmick.
5. Most of the questions arn't intelligence test questions. They bombard you with stupid culture saturated nonsense.
Also, I got some people to take the test with known IQs. The general rule of thumb is:
It makes stupid people smarter than they are.
It works ok for just above average people
Makes smart people dumber than they actually are
My friend that was tested at an IQ of 98 on the WAIS scored 125 on tickles test. My friend that scored 125 on the WAIS scored 133 on tickles test. I scored 155 on the WAIS and got 140 on tickles test.
http://www.iqtest.dk/main.swf probably the best IQ test on the net. Valid for scores between 85 and 135.

As far as standard IQ tests, it's pretty fair. Almost all online IQ tests are like this. However, if you've ever taken an IQ test for MENSA, you'll find it's quite a bit more extensive, and a little harder. I know my IQ from the Tickle tests, or other online tests, is a little bit higher, but only 3 to 5 points from what my other scores were.

I wouldn't say they are COMPLETELY invalid, but they are not as valid as an empirically validated and nationally normed, standardized IQ test that you would get from a psychologist. I'm not sure what the distribution curve is on tickle IQ tests, but people do seem to get higher scores. Or at least, Yahoo Answers users seem to get higher scores. No one ever says, "I got an IQ of 89, what does that mean?" It is always...130.. 140... 200 (although an IQ of 200 on a psychologist's test is impossible).

An IQ test is designed to measure human intelligence. These tests usually consist of 10 to 15 categories depending on what they want to test for. Whats important is the general information gathered and how its used i.e.
-Half of the population have IQ’s of between 90 and 110, while 25% have higher IQ’s and 25% have lower IQ’s
-Below 70 a person is believed to have an intellectual disability
-Above 130 is considered to be genius (ex President Clinton falls in this category (Lewinsky? ... the mind boggles)
Tickle IQ testing appears to be concurrent with their tests and the outcomes as others.
However, in searching the sites for references It says PhD certified but their are NO references. This is the same for other sites as well - see links.

I got the same score from tickle as every other IQ test I have taken. The only difference with tickle is you can take that test again.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. According to the test results I was practically a genius!! I don't know if I buy that.
