i was on CILEST and im pregnant with my 4th, so was not impressed at all!...has any one else got pregnant while taking the pill?..can i add we are fine about it now we are over the shock,we have bought a people carrier and are extending our home!.

im only worried cos i was taking my pill and stopped for my break..hence no period and i had my hep B injection for work and im really ill!...so really worried about effects!

yes had three children on the pill, all the doctor said was , "well its not 100% reliable!!" if I was sick or ill or if I forgot to take it for a day or so I fell pregnant. so sorry to tell you but "it isnt 100% relible" make sure you take it everyday and use other contraception if you are ill. i even changed brand and was pregnant 2 months later!! my last pregnancy was 6 years after the other children and it Took about 3 months to get over the shock, but we too have bought a larger people carrier and built an extension, so I know how you feel! However its all ended well as I have 2 boys already and my 3rd shock pregnancy was a girl and shes 3 months old now, and the boys love her very much and so do we, so it was a lovely shock! Not on the pill anymore though, changed contraception! Dont trust it!!!!!

YES i was also on cilest and got pregnant why taking it not only that i was getting the depo injection before that and only stopped taking that in the may 06 and found out i was pregnant in the october 06 and i heard that the depo takes a year to come out your system so i should of been protected twice as much im noe 23 weeks pregnant with a little boy im made up this is my 3rd

Yes, twice. The first time I was on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen and I was 14 weeks along when I found out. I had "purposely" skipped a period by taking 2 packs back-to-back while on vacation--I was already pregnant at the time. My periods never went beyond 2 days while on the pill, so I didn't know the difference between period and spotting either. My friend and my cousin got pregnant at the same time as me while on the same pill.
The second time I got pregnant on Yasmin. My doctor couldn't account for the reason, but thinks there may have been some sort of interaction with herbal supplements.

I did! It was a problem for us and ended in a termination as my husband has a genetic condition that we did not wish to pass on to a child. My doctor was very sceptical that i had not been taking it properly but I know I had. Mine has become less and less reliable, now even my period just doesn't start when I go on the sugar pills. I'm ready to go off it all together, why mess with your hormones if its not actually doing what it supposed to do.

The pill is only 99% effective - you were the unlucky 1%. Have you been ill and on antibiotics? As these stop the pill working altogether.

yes i had been on the pill for 8years when i fell for my daughter baby no 3 ,she is 25 now and i wouldnt have it any other way but it was a shock,i was 4 months pregnant and feeling movement before i realised

Yes, my last child (now 19 months) was conceived while I was on the pill, and I know of a couple of other women that conceived while taking the pill. (All of the kids are perfectly healthy :) )
