O.K. I just want to be re-assured that people still like good music with integrity. So here are a few of my all-time favs.
The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Tom Petty, Tom Waits, The Doors, Bob Dylan, Stevie Ray Vaughn, David Bowie, Pantera, (old)Metallica, Tool, Alice in Chains, Symphony X, Arch Enemy, Queens of the Stone Age, Mr. Bungle, Nirvana, The Eagles, Black Sabbath...Some of my favorites, that I believe to be possibly the best in their genre.
Just for fun, or as a survey type question...According to you, what did I leave out?

Pretty standard list, and pretty good stuff (though I'd question the Led Zep/Pantera type stuff, but that's just my taste). I'd also add the Pixies and the Band, as well as They Might Be Giants and Leonard Cohen. There are many good bands that maintain their artistic integrity. It's just that you have to look for them.

Agree with most of your favorites. I would add the King of Rock and Roll as well as early heavy metal band Uriah Heep and System of a Down.
