The pretty shiny stuff is wonderous. The gold is precious gift of some forgotten god that left it when the 3rd celestial bowling tournament to decide the third question was postponed.

Not so important. Gold was chosen 'arbitrarily' as a means of payment, it doesn't have any exceptional characteristic. If they hadn't choose gold, they would have chosen some other metal.

We would have found something else to kill each other over, if we hadn't discovered it anyways.

We now kill each other over REligion, oil, pieces of paper we call money
