This is something suggested even by the Serbian Liberals who got over 5% of votes during the recent elections in Serbia. Wouldn't that lead to sooner improvement of the situation in this part of the world?

YES YES YES!!! That would be great if it could actually happen.
and not just that but they actively negotiate now

Whilst Yugoslavia was once a dream it is no more.
It is ridiculous to have an unwilling Albanian Kosovo as part of Serbia. It won't work and will drag both states down...
Deep down I think most Serbs know that it is best for Kosovo to be independent..but it is hard to admit that.

Serbia dragged over Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia..Now nobody denies that they are their own countries.. So I think it is better not to delay because it causes bad tension and it will happen whatever

If Serbia is first to recognize independence.. it will be a good sign, and show good will which will help with Serbia's standing the wotld..and future EU membership..

It will be good for Serbia. because it can start a clean slate Kosovo will just be a drain on resources.
It will help Kosovo Serbs because by participating..Serbia can negotiate with Kosovo to ensure Serb rights. And rights of Monastries.
And if Kosovo Serbs engage in Kosovo politics they would be a strong block of votes..that would carry a strong and powerful voice in a new Kosovo. And could be the 'king makers' to ensure extremist stay out. If they boycot their rights would just be ignored

For Kosovo Albainians it would be good to have a clear resolution. It is important to have good relations with Serbia because it is their largest neighbour. And if Serbia is no longer the enemy Kosovo will no longer have a bogey man, and must face the real problems such as corruption of some of the politicians. Which is good because a new country shouldn't start with corrupt politicians.
Also there would be less extremism or support for a 'Greater Albania' because then all borders would be settled..

But realistically..Serbia won't recogonise Kosovo until the last possible time. It is very hard for any Serbian politician to 'give away' Kosovo. It would be electoral sucide because Serbians are 'inat'
And no politician wants to be know as Vuk Brankovic.traitor of Serbia..

the only element i'd choose to remark in this time relies upon the saying that a a million/2 certainty is worse than an entire lie... worry M says Serbs "took over" Yugoslavia under Milosevic. certainty: while the "different" human beings defected and left Yugosalvia, the Serbs have been nonetheless final. worry M says Serbs "controlled the super militia potential". certainty: the suitable score Air rigidity Officer replace into Croatian and STOLE Yugoslavia jets and went to Croatia with them. The information are that for religious POLITICAL potential (CATHOLIC) helping Croatia, and international (NATO) POLITICAL potential helping Muslims, The Serbians have been singled out via fact the undesirable adult adult males in an unfair, 3-Sided Civil warfare. The Dayton Accord compelled AN IMPOSED answer wherein all and sundry replace into "ethnically mixed" interior the newly created BoZnia. (Bosna-Hercegovina). If the unlawful KOSOVARS enable 2 hundred,000 Serbians to return to ther properties, then that would desire to be a solid initiate in direction of the "democratic, multi-ethnic" "state" the international community favors. So permit's see if it happens! The Serbians comprehend it won't it fairly is why they have a RIGHTEOUS clarification for their INDIGNATION!

I dont know but a compromise is always better than the alternative. Serbs helped us in WW II and then this is another era and people change, however they should look at the situation clearly and not end up where they are pushed into something they won't be able to tolerate down the road. They should test this out for a while and then if it works okay. But to be forced is not going to work.
