Find the gradient for this equation:
y + 2x = 2(x + 1)

I tried transposing it to this:
y + 2x - 2x = 2
But that would make the gradient zero. That can't be right, can it?

The equation reduces to y = 1 and hence the gradient is zero.
You can imagine this equation for a straight line that is flat and parallel to the x-axis passing through the coordinate (0,1).
