what about turion for general use which is better please guide as intel processors are very costly

If you are shopping at a dealer, look at systems that are turned on so that your eyes can view the screen. LOOK AT THE SCREEN! If your EYES are not happy viewing the screen, look at something else!

If your EYES are happy with the screen view, then consider these requirements and price:

Dual core processor (Chose what you like, Intel has the fastest for now, but AMD is a very good, and better priced, 1 or more GB RAM, DO NOT CONSIDER 512 MB OF ram. 80GB or
more SATA hard drive, with a Graphic Card is better than on board VIDEO. Must have a DVD Burner - not DVD ROM! CD Burner, only, is a loser! Windows XP or Vista, No XP HOME!

Any thing else is icing on the cake, but should not influence your decision un less all else is equal!

I have an hp that runs just fine with the Athalon processer.

even m thinking abt amd turion 64 x2 processor in laptop....with mobile centrino technology....i stay in mumbai...india...can some1 tell me its cost in Rupees?????
