I have copied a video cd to another cd. Now I am not able to delete those because they are read only files. It is a SONY CD-R compact disc.If I delete the files can I copy the files again to the same CD?.

CD-R = Compact Disk One time write only
CD-RW = Compact Disk Many time writable.

I hope you understand with simple definition that once you write any data on CD-R it can't be deleted or re-writable. It is possible only with CD-RW.
On CD-R you can add that it you not close the loop of your Disk. And that disk is only readable with Writer. Normal CD-Rom can't read open loop CD.

A CD-R is only recordable once. You would have to have a CD-RW to rewrite over the data on the cd.

You can't delete the files on the disc because it's not a rewritable disc (CD-RW).

Yep, that's right. You can't copy files again onto a CD-R.
