It sounds like you may have done more damage than pull a muscle. I have pulled a muscle before in my side and never had difficulty breathing. Alot of times when a muscle is injured, the other muscles around it go into spasms and tighten up. It becomes very painful to move. I would try to loosen the area (like rubbing it and massaging it) and take ibuprofen. Warm and cold compresses. But if the pain continues to where you are having a hard time breathing, I would give your doctor a call and ask if that is a symptom for a pulled muscle. It may be you actually tore the muscle, which is way more painful that a pulled muscle.
Wishing you a speedy recovery!

If its a nerve, it will go away soon. If you pulled a muscle you must Heal it before you rehab it. Healing is only applying ice,20 on 20 off for a few days. Then when its healed you use heat to get it flowing. Heat is only part of rehab part. Heat will not heal.

Eat bananas. They contain alot of potassium, which is a natural muscle relaxer.

Other than that, you really jsut have to wait out a muscle injury.
