Hello everyone. Here is some background info. I am 23 years old, and NOT sexually active.

i got my period on october 19th. Then i got it on nov 20th. Then i got it on jan 4. The month of december i skipped b/c i was under a lot of stress. Then i got it on Jan 4th and now on Feb 6th. all of my periods were normal, however the one on Feb 6th, which is still going on now, the blood color is rust color like brick red or maroon. My period is also lighter than usual.

yes it is residual blood from your last period this happens if you wore tampons, it is normal, if it doesn't turn red in a day then you probably didn't ovulate so the lining is shedding the old blood from the previous period. nothing to worry about.

Have you changed anything in your daily habits (eating, sleeping, exercising)? If not, this could possibly be some old blood that was hanging around from last month, or from the month you skipped... I wouldn't worry too much about it, your flow can change a bit month to month and it can depend on many different things. However, if it really worries you, you can go talk to your doctor.. Me personally, I would wait and see what happens, and if curious enough, or it happens again, I'd bring it up the next time I'm at the doctor for a yearly check up, or if I'm sick or something...

It is nomal but to make sure you may want to talk with you doctor and make sure they don't need to put you on BC. Meaning that when I had the same thing that you are going through that I came to have polysistic ovaries. That menas you have to be on bc to regualte you and also make sure the asists don't get bigger.
