I suffer from spots. I've had them for ages now but my doctor subscribed me Isotrexin gel and it really works. Ask your doctor for some. Tea tree oil doesn't help very much and neither does clean and celar or clearasel. Thoose products are only good for small spots. Hope this helps =D

I have had trouble with spots for years and I have finally stopped them by changing my diet and haven't had one since. I always drink my 2 litres of water a day and only one cup of tea/coffee. The water does cleanse your skin and I belive that the reduction in cafine helps. Also cut down on meat and eat more fish.
I really don't believe wiping chemicals over your face works.

the pigment of your skin changes. be it aging, sun exposure, freckles, anything. women wear foundation to "hide" these pigment changes, giving us a more even, healthy look to our skin. the "spot clearing gel" and any such product is meant to even out our skin, reducing the need for foundations. the Mary Kay version of this product -which i'm familiar with - is called the Even Complexion Essence. But whatever the product you use, apply it evenly to your entire face and neck. Problem with mainline products such as Neutrogena is that if they claim it works in 8 hours it's only a temporary fix. It doesn't "heal" anything. If you stop using it, you'll stop noticing a difference. MY INCREDIBLE MAKEUP TIP: If you have red/pink pimples, use VISINE - or any eye drop that "gets the red out" and apply it to the pimple. Within 1-2 minutes the red is gone! and it lasts all stinkin' day!

Body Shop Tea Tree Oil. Apply with a cotton bud to the spot.
Ensure you are cleansing, toning, and moisturising your face on a daily basis.
A weekly face scrub and face mask is always good.
Personally I recommend Clinique products, can be quite pricing, but look on eBay and duty free airports
