Today at the Georgia State Capital we had "Family Day". The average working stiff can go and talk about the issues affecting the family because of our state government policies and procedures.
One hot topic was health care insurance for the poor. Medicaid Peachcare, insurance for the working poor's children (statistically most of the poor work here in Georgia) is going to fall so short-funded, that the state wants to cut 100,000 to 150,000 CHILDREN off the program and stop all new enrollment (approx. 150,000-200,000 are eligible but not enrolled) to save money and bring Medicaid into budget. This is "necessary" because the Federal USA government is declining to fund the difference.
However, one of the issues on the table is that the state of Georgia has decided to spend several Million dollars building Boat Ramps for Fishing to attract better tourism. Yea, you got it ... it's "The Trickle Down Effect". Because Tourism dollars improves any economy.

➔ Government
The people of the State of Georgia, (named after our late sovereign, His Majesty King George III), will have an opportunity in a couple of years time to vote for a government in Washington which will put in place something approaching the National Health Service, which we have here in UK. These are not the exact words spoken at Springfield Illinois yesterday, but a very close approximation.
Trickle Down is just talk, used by the rich to make the poor feel good. It simply does not happen. If people want something badly enough, they have to go out and vote for it and that means being registered to vote. The poor of Georgia should do just that, register to vote and then vote every time they get a chance - make the change today.
People Power works - DO IT!
The British people returned victorious from war in 1945. They, including their Army, the British Army, voted en-mass for a Labour government, whom they knew would create a 'home fit for heroes' including a brand new welfare state and free at point of need medicare - the National Health Service.
The people of the USA won a great and glorious victory in a War of Independence, "The Revolution." Their descendants seem to have gotten very little from this 'deal'. Time to act!

It doesn't apply to everything. We started to hear about "trickle down" during Reagan or Bush Sr.'s administration, right? And yet since then, how often has the minimum wage gone up? (The cost of living sure has). Since then, the gap between what CEO's earn and what the average worker earns has widened considerably. The rich really have gotten richer, and the poor gotten poorer.
Reinvesting money into the economy is one thing--more power to it. But "trickle down" only works if the ones at the top, starting point, don't build water tight containers and hoarde everything for themselves.

I highly doubt a few boat ramps will provide jobs for hundreds of thousands of people. I don't understand why they don't understand they need to make education in poor areas more equal, and make higher education more accessible. This is nation wide, employers are not going to choose an area where there aren't many college educated people. I'm not even going to mention Globalization. There is no way we are going to keep up. Trickle down economics just doesn't work. The top 1% of wealth holders aren't going to let go of their pocketbooks and reinvest in America. Its not a wise investment right now.

Why don't you get concerned citizens together and help with the building of the boat ramps. Find a contractor that knows how to do it. And you all work under him in the weekends. Or is it not important to you to do it cheaper?

Supply side economic's has never worked, it has always resulted in a recession, as we are in now. If it wasn't for having to fuel the war machine we would be in a full fledged depression. Cutting off funding to the poor in order to finance this war is morally wrong and that is why I say that George Bush is no Christian, he is very immoral. When they get done building boat ramps and thousands of children die because of lack of affordable health care, remember at the polls who to vote for.

I certainly have a solid occasion of ways the trickle-down works via exhibiting what happens while the trickle-down stops. a number of years in the past a sparkling England State (Massachusetts?) imposed a yacht tax, no longer on possessing them plenty yet for development and determining to purchase them. This destroyed that State's marine shape marketplace via fact definitely everyone began paying for yachts farther down the coast in different states. agencies close down, a lot of human beings misplaced jobs and KEY factor right here via loss of a known marketplace interior the a number of city, each and every corporation in those cities suffered via fact the until now employed yacht builders did no longer have jobs any greater and that they could no longer spend on the flaws they have been spending on earlier. ethical of the trickle-down tale: while wealthy human beings take their corporation someplace else, the trickle-down stops. that's suitable on a macro scale to boot. all of us comprehend approximately "outsourcing jobs" and shifting finished agencies and factories distant places. yet easily wealthy human beings have moved their place of residing and fortunes offshore to flee a predatory, rapacious Federal government. yet another occasion of ways the trickle down element is destroyed via government are the a number of "millionaire taxes" Now York city has at present imposed. What happens? wealthy human beings go away the State. Rush strikes to Florida (no State earnings tax), Beck strikes to Texas (no State earnings tax) and various mansions on long island sit down vacant. wager what that has carried out to the tax base? answer: State/city make much less on taxes. what proportion retailers in manhattan are no longer profiting from what those wealthy human beings have been spending regionally? what proportion agencies and jobs did they take with them while they fled a rapacious and predatory State? So via staring at what happens while the trickle-down is prevented (continually via governments) possible see the way it incredibly works while left on my own in a loose marketplace device.
