MEN: FEDERER FEDERER FEDERER FEDERER FEDERER all the way...
WOMAN: This is tough I am going to say Maria Sharapova just beacuse she has really got great consistency in the grand slams. The wildcard for this spot for me is Serena Williams because she has the talent to dominate the womans side the way that roger does on mens side!

Easy answer on the men's side. The only real question about Federer in '07 is whether or not he can pull off the grand slam. If he can get past Nadal and the rest of the field at the French, there is little doubt Federer will remain number 1 at the end of the year (barring injury, of course).
The women's side is much more wide-open. Will Henin find her form after personal and injury problems? Can Sharapova take the next step in her career? Will Mauresmo rebound from a disappointing Aussie tourney to regain her '06 form?
How about Serena? Can she stay focused on tennis and avoid injuries all year? If so, I think she has a strong shot at the top ranking. My money's on Sharapova making a consistent showing all season and holding down the number 1 spot at the end of the year.

Men- Roger Federer
Women- my guess is Sharapova. She might not be dominating women's tennis but i think she will do well enough to be #1.
