The debate at work is that name brand products hold up better, better quality, and last longer. Name brand food products taste better and are better quality.

The flip side of the coin:

Off brand products are just as good. They hold up just as well. You're only paying more for the name. Off brand food tastes just as well. Is just as good for you. Nothing wrong with it.

What do you think?

Sometimes but it's really hard to buy those branded products, it's too expensive so I buy the ones that are not branded but are still good in quality.

No way-- half the time you are paying for the advertising and/or the status of the label.
I buy what I like and what is of the best quality for the price I want to pay. Sometimes it is a name brand--- sometimes not.

You tell yourself the no name brand is just as good to help you choke them down. I buy no name as often as I can stomach for the family (I've got college tuitions to pay), but Never for guests. And when I go to their houses, they feed me right too.

Occasionally, I even will even skip the brand name and go with freshly made at home. But that's only for treats. Who has time to do that everyday?

Yeah most unbranded products are just as good if not better... I will buy them unless theres something I like about the brand... Like Chev or Browning

nope. cheap stuff most of the time. but you have to make choices about what's important to you. cheaper is not always as good. for example, I won't buy this nasty spaghetti sauce from ALDI, or the cheap Kroger brand. I only eat Newmans Own. After you've had it....you just can't go back.

As it comes to food:rubbish to only buy name brand products.
But:if you need design stuff for in the house?
Stick to name brand products:lifetime warranty
Like:Stelton.Zack.Alessi etc.
Splash.

I buy off brand things...only because I shop on a budget & it works....the only things I do NOT get off brand is my tea...gotta have Lipton....my coffee....gotta have Maxwell House....& my Mac & Cheese....gotta have Kraft....

other then that...it is mostly off brand...& if you add just enough milk or butter to certain things...there is no taste of generic to it....

i am such a brand~whore! i do think that with alot of things you buy in life, especially for everyday wear, good name brands do last longer. It depends alot on the age, sex, and reason for using it... example: my son is 11, we used to buy his shoes at payless, he would outgrow a pair everyweek and they would fall apart everyweek... now, for the last year i guess, ive been buying him vans and they outlast him, they are more expensive, but well worth it cuz they get passed on to me!!!! yea! i LOVE that! i think ya get whatcha pay for! but i am cheeeep too!
