Better still why not don't let fear hold you back : )
The thing always happens that you really believe in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen.
The aim of education is the knowledge not of fact, but of values.
Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.
Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it.
Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held.
Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books.
Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin.
Believe nothing just because someone else believes it.
Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true
Love & Blessings

All of these require for you to blindly "believe" when in fact all can and have been tested. Testing is crucial in science to validate claims and eliminate false ones.
Understand that astrology uses science but is NOT A SCIENCE. Look in the science section of a library or book store and you will not find astrology books there. You will find astronomy a legit science that came from astrology but that's where it ends.
If you took science in school there is something called "the Scientific Method"
The Scientific Method is the best way yet discovered for winnowing the truth from lies and delusion. The simple version looks something like this:
1. Observe some aspect of the universe.
2. Invent a tentative description, called a hypothesis, that is consistent with what you have observed.
3. Use the hypothesis to make predictions.
4. Test those predictions by experiments or further observations and modify the hypothesis in the light of your results.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until there are no discrepancies between theory and experiment and/or observation.
When consistency is obtained the hypothesis becomes a theory and provides a coherent set of propositions which explain a class of phenomena. A theory is then a framework within which observations are explained and predictions are made.
Consistency is a key point for science while in astrology there is none.
As Carl Sagan said "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof."
Add on: When you say someone is closed minded that is a fallacies of logic and rhetoric called Ad hominem - attacking the arguer and not the argument. Can believers in astrology be open minded to the possiblity they may be wrong?

Try not to listen to anyone's forceful opinion, these are the people that only want you to believe the things they believe, and in their close-minded world, anything that does not fit in the doctorines they promote, they just cast it to the side.
I was once told "to believe" is the death of knowledge, and the death of idea. It is the point in which we close our minds (and our eyes) to all other possiblities.
My life is far from over, and every step of the way I learn something new, something that will help shape the ideas I have about life, death, and all things in between.
In my opinion: Alchemy, Astrology, Numerology, Tarot, (and more) are peaceful ways to deepen spirituality, not deny, or replace it.
Sure, people have used these things as tools to commit evil, and from the few that do wrong, we all are judged. But from that...There was nothing of the Occult to blame when Jim Jones murdered 908 people in the name of God (look up 'the peoples temple').
If you truely want to know what asrology is about, read, read and read some more. I'm not taking about horoscopes, or the overview of your sunsign. There are a lot of good sources out there, and the more you read (with an open mind), the greater your understanding will be:::
"Find out the truth for youself, don't just be a blind follower"

Hello---,
Of course, there is no compulsion on any one to believe in any one of these sciences. And one must avoid it too, until one can. It restrains one from taking action and thereby is in a way an hindrance to progress. Without action there are no results. Waiting for something to happen favorably hardly leaves one anywhere. In the end it amounts to a waste of time. So, in a way you are very correct: why should you believe in all this?
There are times in life when one is unable to take a wise decision. It is especially so when some earlier decisions go awry.It is then that one seeks advise from close ones. And when that too does not help one resorts to one of these sciences for advise. If you are not fortunate to get in touch with a Master then your faith in it totally vanishes. However, if you are lucky enough then your faith is established for ever.
It seems you have not had the need to consult anyone as yet. Let us hope that adversity does not strike soon so that you do not ever need to take advise or consult an astrologer/numerologist. However, whenever you do require to consult any one, then my advise would be not to take his/her words blindfolded until and unless his/her sayings have come true many times----so that chances and coincidences can be ruled out totally.
So, keep moving along in life, as long as you can, without consultations.
My Best Wishes,
Ck

You shouldn't. Anything over the limit is not good. If you like, you can use these as a guide to, say, colours of your clothings, number of the property you wish to purchase but not let them limit you the way you might want to lead your life or affect your judgement over certain matter.
