When a little boy blows a dog whistle, his dog comes, even though the boy can't hear the whistle. Explain why the boy can't hear the whistle, but his dog can.

One of the reasons is because the frequency might be too high, (over 20,000 hz) can't think of any thing else

Think you are correct.

Typically, a dog whistle is within the range of 16000 Hz to 22000 Hz with only the frequencies below 20000 Hz audible to the human ear. Some dog whistles have adjustable sliders for active control of the frequency produced.

You have answered your question already.
The frequency of the sound produced by the whistle is over the capabilities of a human to listen. The dog's hearing abilities however are a lot more advanced so the dog can hear the whislte whilst we can not.

that is the only answer. The dog whistle is considered a ultra sound which is the definition of a sound a human being can't hear, ie it is too low. other animals like a dog have a higher ability to hear as opposed to humans.

You answered your own question. The high frequency can be heard by many animals, of which a dog is one. Many animals have much more sensitive ears than us humans. Our ears are better tuned to the lower frequencies.
