I don't know how or where this "Apache" thing came from but I want it out of my laptop,can anyone please tell me how to get rid of it? Thanks in advance if you can help!

The Apache group makes software that serves web pages. http://httpd.apache.org/

It powers OS X's personal web sharing. Simply disable personal web sharing through sharing preferences, the opposite of this article: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=151734

Apache is server software and can usually be uninstalled (Windows).. I am unsure how the process works on Macs as I rarely use them. Make sure your manufacturer didn't put the software on there for a reason before removing it...once you determine it is safe, I believe you can simply delete the folder and remove the start up references from your boot scripts (again, not too sure about Macs, limited exp on Linux/Unix systems)
