No. There was a family named Lutz and the did live in that house. Beyond that...it was all fabricated. There were no supernatural or paranormal occurances in that house when they lived there. The whole thing was part of a plot by the lawer of the person that mudered his family in that hosue. A man named Defaeo. The idea was to create evidence to support the idea that he was somehow controlled by supernatural forces when he killed his family. The laywer put the LUtz family up to perpetrating the fraud and even helped them to get the house. A member of the Lutz family and that lawyer came forward 2 or 3 years ago with the entire story.

I read this book when it was first published, and spent many subsequent nights with the lights on, thinking that it was true!
The fact is that, several years later I read a newspaper article in which the Lutzes confessed to writing the story over "many bottles of wine". Talk about disappointing!

It's based on a story related by the residents of the house, yes. However, whether their story is true or not is another question.

The e book, and later action picture, are in accordance with money owed from the kin that moved in after the murders, the homicide himself, and his protection lawyer. No different kin who has lived in that homestead considering has reported a haunting, and intensely a number of the gamers in touch admit that it became all made up, so no, that is all pretend (although makes for a exciting tale).

Yes, but no monsters or ghosts involved. Just a dude in Long Island, NY. who shot and killed his whole family with a shotgun. The house they lived in looks slightly similar to the one in the movies, but is not reported as being haunted.

Supposedly but Hollywood enhanced of course. Movies like these tend to give demons way too much power. I think the biggest fans are demon wannabe's and they get ideas. The movies always show the poor humans acting powerless and terrified. Please. I scare myself more by looking in the mirror when I wake up. Fear is what these guys count on. If you refuse to show it, they eventually give up and go haunt someone else.

The Lutz' story may have been true to them, because they are the ones who witnessed it with their own eyes.
You would have had to see it in order
to actually believe it.When the book
and movies were made, the story was
much more exaggerated than the real deal.
