I am 5 1/2 months pregnant with my third child and have been experiencing pain in my tailbone. I've never had this problem with my previous two, I did have some sciatic nerve pain in my hips with them. Is this normal? I dont remember falling or injuring myself, should I talk to my doctor about getting an x-ray? How would you even do that when pregnant? Anyone else ever experienced this?

Yes, I have it really bad (I'm 25 weeks). I never had it with my other pregnancy. I just do kegels and walk and sit on cushioned surfaces. My doctor said it was normal, and should go away after delivery. I'm also having Sciatic pain, not sure if the two are related though.

I had this with my 2nd. She sat on my bowels until a week before delivery. The further along I got the worse it was. And having to go the the bathroom HUUURRRTTT!!! I was scheduled to go in and have them try to turn her, but luckily, I got her to move by eating Fruit Loops. The sugar gets them active. I ate the cereal and kept pushing in under my ribs (not hard) and it worked. She moved. See if your doctor can tell you how the baby is positioned. Remember, once you get him or her started moving, you've got to mash here and press there to keep them from moving right back where they were. It took me about 3-4 hours to get her to get off my bowels and was even more painful at times, but the relief was so worth it. Hope that helps and good luck.

It could be a pilonidal cyst. If this is the case it will fill up with fluid and the doctor will have to lance it to release the fluid. I ended having to have surgery on mine twice but some people just need to have it lanced. These are very common and actually everyone has one on their tailbone it only fills up with some kind of trauma (I fell on mine) or with pregnant women it happens because of the way you sit on it.
