Well, I am not a doctor but I work with them and they always say "If you're having chest pains, get it checked out!" Undoubtedly it could just be your gallbladder and perhaps you need to watch what you're eating that's triggering it. It could be asthma from the weight gain of pregnancy if you don't already have it. Or it could be something more serious. The back pains may or not even be related to the chest pains. I mean, you are 8Mos. pregnant, your back is bound to hurt, but if you are ill...it'll be worse. Have you taken any tylenol? I know you are allowed to take extra-strength tylenol if needed, or if you have Tylenol 3 if the pain is severe. If none of this works for you, call your OB-GYN's office, there should either be a recording offering advice or some kind of service to allow you to page him/her. I would of course, wait until after 9am to page the doctor on Sunday. If you don't feel comfortable paging the doctor then go to Labor & Delivery at the hospital. Usually any patient that is over 20 weeks pregnant can bypass the E.R. and is sent there for examination.

I would definately talk to my doctor but I think it is pregnancy related. I felt very tight chested/short of breath the bigger the baby got as obviously it is pushing up towards your chest now. Check it out though just to be safe.

I would like to know your age and if this is your first child. You should always be concerned about chest pains but at this late date in your pregnancy I would immediately call the closest hospital and ask for the nurses station on the delivery floor and ask them what to do.DO IT NOW! Do not second guess anything at this term in your pregnancy. I really hope you listen to me. Take care and please let me know on this site how it turned out. Teri

You should give your doctor a call. Chest pain can indicate something serious, or you could just have gas buildup.
