Christians are to love everyone, it's the most important thing Jesus wants us to do. Seems to me that Christians often single gays out above people who have other problems, like adulterers and other sinners. Why?

What are your thoughts.....

Gandhi said it best "I love your Christ. I don't like your christians. They are so unlike your Christ."

They believe a person made the Universe, and he was called God.
They also believe he made Adam and Eve (they had three sons in the Bible, so where does that leave the rest of us), and not Adam and Steve. There was never, of course and Eve and Bev.
It's pathetic.
We're supposed to believe that a Man, Noah, who had three sons, and no daughters, built an Ark to save all the Animals from being drowned.
It's a load of fairy-talt b*ollocks, and the deluded fools now think they can get away with 'Creationism'
Many Christian communities are Christian with their attitudes, when tolerance, race, and diversity are being discussed, but seem to forget their hypocricy when it comes to homosexuality.
Religion is a farce, and seems to imply it's better for 40 people to beat up a gay person, or beat them to death, than it is for them to walk safely into their own home and cuddle their partner.
I thought religion was all about tolerance and love.
Now it transpires the Catholic church won't condemn paedophiles, both heterosexual and homosexual.
What a mockery they make of sanity.
It's repulsive.

Speaking as an agnostic, I can say it's because people are imperfect. I don't believe in religion, but speaking philosophically, Jesus had it right on the money. People are just too messed up to follow a set of morals. They'll use whatever they can to further their own agenda regardless of what their beliefs are supposed to stand for. They often single out homosexuals because they're often afraid of their own sexuality and a defined set of civil rights haven't been established for homosexuals yet, so they're easy targets for scared people.

God loves all men, regardless of Race, Language or sexual preference. It was stated that homosexual was a sin. But not to worry, for that penalty of sin, Jesus has paid for it. Therefore if you are in Christ, you are still righteous in God's eyes. It is ok that some Christians don't love sinners, it is not important.
You know what is important? It's Jesus still loves you. And if you are in Christ, God see no sins in you.
Reason? Becos Jesus had paid the price for you on the cross so that you are forever in God's Kingdom. For brothers and sisters who are homosexuals, dun worry.. God will one day make it right for you. Trust Him.

I am a christian . What do you base this on? I have no problem with gay people and am sick of being told that as a Christian - I judge people or I think I am superior to people. You may actually find that most christians do not give a crap about others sexuality.

I do not think all christians are like that.
Only Christian FANATICS like in the movie JESUS CAMP...
scary. God sends a message of love and forgiveness.

Some people missinterpret the bible.

and if it says in the bible that gays at "BAD"

think about this

over 2,000 years people had have the power to change it as they please to serve an agenda. Do you really think they would not change to their advantage a document that basically dictates the way people live?

First gay people are not sinners.
Second becasue socity thinks being gay is wrong.
Third they think god hates gay people.

If they use the Bible against us Ill use it back.

It says that god created all his children and loves them all the same...

oooh

It all comes down to this... God says... in Matthew 7 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged." Yet it seems like most Christians are the most judgmental people ever...

They are judgemental, finger pointing hypocrites who pick and choose sins that suit themselves. The bible says that divorce is an abomination. How many divorced heterosexuals, do you think point their fingers and judge others while calling themselves christians? When are they going to start bashing each other for their own abominations?

Jesus was a Jew and a Rabbi (teacher). He stated that the covenant between Israel (Jacob) and his descendants would last past the end time (the end time is when everything we can observe is no more). In the covenant, there are 613 commandments forbidding same sex relationships. You see this in starting from Genesis 19:1-29. This answers why Jews choose not to love Jews who as same sex orientation. Unless you have a Jewish mother or you have converted to Judaism, these commandments are not binding to you.

Now let's talk about the non-Jews (Gentiles) which the Christians belong. Christianity talks about a second covenant between God and the Gentiles. The restrictions for Christians can be found in 1 Cor 10:23-24. This restriction does not ban same sex preference, same sex relationship, or same sex marriage; however, you will find in Paul (Saul of Tarsus) who was a Jew the Jewish attitude to same sex orientation (See detail after the first answer).

You will see in the epistles certain Christian who wanted to observe the 613 commandments. You see this even today when you hear about the Ten Commandments (there are 613 commandments). They observe some commandment and discard others forming sects and denominations. They practice not what Jesus taught (Jesus only ministered to the Jews), but a blend between the old and the new covenant. Moreover the failed to meet the second part of the greatest commandment, love your neighbor as yourself.

Short answer: Christians are suppose to follow Christ and you can see that journey in the New Testament (New Covenant) starting with the four accounts (four Gospels). Maybe your questions should read why there are so few Christians. Specifically those who love their neighbor as themselves.

Here are the details regarding why Christians take about bans and treatment of same sex same orientation. You will find biblical verses they cite in Roman 1:18-27; 1 Cor 6:10; 1 Tim 1:8-11 (all come from Gen 19:1-29). This is another example of Christians behaving badly; however, I am going to slug this out verse by verse.

Roman 1:18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.
24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Paul in this verse presents the Judaic view of God and of man. It is not a prohibition, but an observation. It talks about man's lust, all of his lusts. These verses do not address sexual orientation but behavior, sinful behavior.

1 Cor 6:9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Behavior is presented which will not inherit the Kingdom of God. It tells you of a state before you were washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. This is baptism of Holy Spirit.

1 Tim 1:8We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. 9We also know that law[a] is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine 11that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.

This address to Timothy about his behavior. Paul suggests to Timothy what he must do to present the gospel of God.

In all three quoted passages, man’s behavior is cited, behavior that is "contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the glorious gospel of God." Paul was describing man's behavior. He wasn't making a restriction. If you want his restriction, see 1 Cor 10:23-24.

Long answer: Just read the verses (I checked the Greek) to see if Paul is talking about action. If you are talking about restricting action, you must first deal with 1 Cor 10:23-24 which is really the second part of the Greatest Commandment that Jesus cited.
