It's a really random question. I'm not even pregnant or married. It happened in a movie and I am just curious as to how a couple would survive this? (after getting married b/c pregnant then losing the baby) Has anyone had or known of someone with a similar experience? Do you think a marriage could last through something like that?

I understand that miscarriags are common. I was just curious if anyone had experienced the particular scenario I listed in the question. I know miscarriages are common. Please quit telling me this. Thanks.

if you get married because of a pregnancy, the marriage is probably not going to last anyway. if the couple were planning on marriage anyway, then it might work, but not if it wasn't a planned-to-do-in-the-future thing.

I had 2 miscarriage and my husband and I are still together, why wouldn't you be? It's something in live that happens and life still goes on. In the beginning it was hard only because I was depressed, he was upset as well. We both knew It had to have happened for a reason and no rush we waited and had a healthy baby boy 1yr later.

I don't believe that anyone should just get married b/c you have a baby, it rarely ever works out.

If that is the only thing holding the marriage together then I feel bad for the couple, don't get married because you are pregnant get married because they are the person you love. As I learned when I was young don't get involved with anyone you wouldn't marry.

To be honest.....the misscarraige might have been due to the stress of marraige and the new life ahead. The marraige if true enough would survive. If not a divorce would happen. But I would assume that the movie did that part just because it is a movie and would add drama to the flick.

I concur with the 'miscarriages happen frequently...'

In the scenario you describe, though, it might not be all that common. The overwhelming majority happen in the first twelve weeks, so -- that'd be quite the race to the altar, if that follows.

That's just another reason why people shouldn't get married just b/c they are having a baby.

Billions of marriages have lasted through miscarriages.

Miscarriages happen more frequently than I think you understand.
