With the Bush Administration's latest amendment to the war strategy for Iraq, curiously entitled "Kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out", American citizens are concerned that the Iraqi people may be headed for extinction. Despite the optimistic outlook forecast by U.S. news media, there is a growing concern about the shrinking population in the middle eastern country.
"I'm worried there won't be any Iraqis left by 2009", says Thomas Harvett, a spokeperson for an Iraqi Humanitarian Coalition. "Then who will rebuild Iraq? The Americans?"

How can we work together to ensure the continuance of the Iraqi people in the face of danger? Can the Bush Administration be persuaded to show mercy?

I think the most fascinating aspect of this Question/Answer combination is the blind assumption by some Answerers that I, myself am Iraqi. The fact is that I am from the Midwest (Chicago, specifically), not the Middle East. I believe this is due to the sympathetic nature of the question in favor of the Iraqi people.

What planet does this writer live on?

There are tens of millions of Iraqi's in Iraq. What is the meaning of "extinction" ?

Americans are not emulating Nazi Germany, setting up death camps and exterminating people. The infrastructure of Iraq is better now than it was during the 30+ year regime of Saddam Hussein! Who do you think HAS been rebuilding Iraq? It's been the USA! Billions of dollars are being sent annually to rebuild Iraq. What the hell do you want from us?

What "danger" are the Iraqi's in? Saddam Hussein is gone. The only ones killing Iraqi's are the Iraqi's themselves! Secular violence between Shi'ites and Sunni's are responsible for the multitudes of deaths in Iraq, not American bullets!

Point the finger of blame in the faces of whom it needs to be pointed in. If the Iraqi's want their country secure, then secure it! They're no longer under dictatorship anymore. Stop the fighting amongst themselves, and the US will withdrawl.

Whoever wrote this must live on Mars, because he certainly does not live on planet Earth!

My friend has rightly advised, to understand reality please watch CNN, MNCB or BBC.. Iraq is rich in oil resources. All Governments in Iraq have invested huge amounts in education. Once there is a peace, Iraq will recover from the great shock. Please remember only Iraqi people can change the fate of their country. If there is compete peace, foreign troops have to leave Iraqi soil. Iraqi people must recognize their real enemy.

extinction

noun
1. no longer in existence; "the extinction of a species"
3. the reduction of the intensity of radiation as a consequence of absorption and radiation
4. complete annihilation; "they think a meteor cause the extinction of the dinosaurs"
5. a conditioning process in which the reinforcer is removed and a conditioned response becomes independent of the conditioned stimulus

There are approximately 27 million Iraqis - Arabs and Kurds. If we bomb Iran, I'd be worried about the reduced number of Shiites, the majority prevailing in Iran and ruling Iraq. You might run out of them.

I think your slogan is from a made in America movie. You shouldn't watch those. Boycott American goods.

The Americans aren't killing your civilians, and you know that. You're just trying to incite hegemonic sympathies from the left. Terrorists are pouring into your country principally from Iran and Syria among the states surrounding Iraq.

We freed your country from a 30 year dictatorship. You chose to fight a civil war. Your countrymen kill each other over an ancient condemnation of heresy.

Blaming the US is like admitting that a country of adult Iraqis wear diapers. Why insult yourself? We don't. We released the millions of American dollars Saddam stashed away, and continue to inoculate tens of thousands of your children. Currently we repair your infrastructure. What are you doing? Killing yourselves and watching American movies you are supposed to boycott.

I googled the phrase, "Kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out" and it looks like it is from somebody's blog. I think somebody made that up.

You really need to quit reading those blogs. Stick to CNN and MSNBC and people will know what you are talking about.

hahahaha... there are too many of them to be endangered, let alone be extinct...unless some powerful tyrant in some alternate universe decides to wipe them out, I'm sure they'll survive and continue to roam the Earth...(",)
