Im experiencing shortness of breath and when I check my pulse I feel my pulse skipping a beat. Maybe its high blood pressure or anxiety, cause this only happens when I feel nervous or uncomfortable ( like being around my Mom...lol. ) And when I outside and I basically relaxed I'm ok. But the shortness of breath happens all bay.

Additional Info: I dont have chest pains or anything....yet. So I hope its not my heart

You did not say how old you are, but I'm guessing not very old. That said, it probly isn't high blood pressure(HTN). The symptoms you are describing are anxiety. You just kind of feel like your heart dropped to the floor and your breath goes with it. And the pulse is also another indicator of anxiety, especially if it is fast. The one thing that concerns me is you saying "the shortness of breath lasts all day", that is also an indicator of anxiety, but can also be indicative of other problems, ashtma or allergies. But with all that said you really should talk to your mom and ask to go to your family doctor just to be on the safe side. I know it can be very scary, but you are young, apparently, and there should be no reason for concern. But to be sure you need to see your doctor and let him/her check you out.

I would recommend seeing a doctor, just to rule out any possibilities. I have had anxiety, and my symptoms were very similar to yours. I had some shortness of breath too, like I couldn't get enough air.

You may want to check out something called Hyperventilation Syndrome. It can contribute to anxiety, and it causes the symptoms you described. Basically, you are over breathing because too much carbon dioxide is breathed out. Do you notice that you breathe quickly? Do you usually breathe through your mouth? When you breathe does your chest raise up, more than your stomach (diaphragm)? If so, you may be suffering from over breathing. It's very common (some doctors say 1 in 10 people have it).

You can do some breathing exercises to help you with this and also practice breathing in and out through your nose. There are many websites, but here's one you may want to check out for some background info:

To find out more about Hyperventilation Syndrome, a great book is "Self-Help for Hyperventilation Syndrome" by Dinah Bradley. If you're generally stressed, an excellent workbook is "The Relaxation & Stress Reduction Workbook" by Davis, Eshelman, and McKay.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

When I go to the cardiologist that is the first question he asks me..... I would really suggest making an appointment with your family doctor and if they see any reason for concern, they will refer you to a cardiologist.... Though, it may just be anxiety, it's not something to gamble with.

Your symptoms are indicative of some underlying big problem.Hence take a appointment as soon as possible. The early you start treatment the better the results.
