I was in Casper 20 years ago---it has grown---like crazy----just wondering are people still laid back---I am in my mid 50's now--widowed and will be alone---leaving my families behind---wondering will this be cool---how expensive is it to live? Can I get a nice apartment for under $500 a month----what is the cost of living compared to Colorado Springs, CO?

~~ It has been quite a few years since we were in Casper.
I'm glad to hear towns in the west are growing too.
People move to places like Casper, Buffalo and Cody to get away from rat-races; to enjoy a quieter/laid back life.
If you enjoy the outdoor life you'll find much to keep you occupied around Casper.
And hey, you're not all that far from the most beautiful place on earth - Yellowstone National Park (lucky man)

~~ The link below is the the Casper Convention and Visitors Bureau; have a look at what your new city has to offer:

and the city's website has useful information on leisure activities too:

~~ This is the link to Casper's "Star Tribune" newspaper; you could check on rentals in the Classifieds.

I'm not sure about the cost of living compared to Colorado Springs.
I cannot think of any reasons why it would be too big a difference.
