I have visited there, many times...but never lived there...walked all over the place...the last time I was there...it reminds me of a extremely hilly San Francisco!!! I think that it is really beautiful there, wish I lived there...I love it...

They have a great bus system there,...called Park and ride...and sometimes you can get free bus rides...(where I am now, near D.C. you can get free rides too!) but, in Seattle, the bus hours depend on the peak hours and such...there are times you ride for free! I will add though, that it isn't fun to park in Seattle, as it sure ain't cheap! It is also very expensive to live there, same cost as The Bay Area...and or Hawaii, and or , most of the U.S.!

You can get a ton of great excercise though! LOL!

I love Pikes' Market Place..and the stuff that they sell, and I love the city., it is soooo clean there!(at least ,from what I have seen)...they don't have much of a "China Town" there..which really bothered me...I love going to San Francisco,Calif, China Town, and Japan Town as well....I also love Oakland,Calif, China Town!I just love the cultural places too, and the people, and the environment...I love stuff like this!I was rather disappointed when I found that there wasn't much in this area!

But, I have gone camping and hiking, and back packing with family in the Orcas islands...and Puget sound area....
I also have family there...and I STILL love it, anyhow! It's picturesque,and scenic..and beautiful!

why not go and visit?!!

The good---It's one of the most beautiful cities in North America. Water sports close by, Skiing close by, Mountain climbing close by. Wonderful waterfront with great restaurants and sights. Pike St. Market is just above the waterfront, four blocks up you can catch the Monorail to the Space needle to have lunch or just view the city. Back down on 1st Ave is the underground city. What is left of Seattle after it burnt to the ground in 1889. They just rebuilt over it. The rain that everyone complains about isn't nearly that bad. NYC, SF and Miami all get more rain annually than Seattle. There's ton's of things to do and see there. If your bored in Seattle it's because you want to be.

The bad--If your a socialist this is your town. The cost of living is outrageous. The average home is over $400,000. Traffic is either 2nd or 3rd worst in the nation. The city takes your money for their pet projects like you are all Bill Gates. The Constitution of the United States of America means nothing to the people who run King county. ie:if you own property anywhere in the county and want to do anything with it, build, clear cut, mow you can't because it now belongs to King County, but you do have the privilage of paying taxes on it. You can't sell it either. Why? Because you can't develope it. As I said if your a socialist, this is your town.

You couldn't pay me enough to live there. But it's a great place to visit. Oh and Microsoft is not in Seattle. It's in Redmond on the east side of Lake Washington.

I lived on the east coast for 20 years. My parents come from Pennsylvania to visit once a year. It's interesting to watch them relax . They aren't so worried about how they appear to other people when they're here. They pay more attention to the scenery, whether their ketchup is coming from a bottle or has been homemade. They love the bus system, the flowers on the telephone poles on Pike & Pine in the downtown area, buying food from Pikes Place Market for dinner, biking in Volunteer Park & people watching at the wading pool there. Seattle has a lot to offer.

I like it. It's a lite rainy, but tolerable. Getting around the city is easy via local transit, and there are plenty of destinations. Skiing is nearby, yet the winters are fairly mild.

I try not to for two reasons. One is rain which depresses me and makes me grumpy. Other is Starbucks which sells revolting coffee and would be way over priced even if the coffee was good, which also depresses hell out of me.
