Just use the Breathe Right strips - no drugs or chemicals AT ALL. As previously mentioned, long-term use of decongestant sprays can become counterproductive because of rebound hypercongestion. Use the strips and a saline spray for a while until your tissues recover.

My nose gets stuffy a lot too. Stop using nasal spray, it only makes it worse. The nasal spray is addictive, and when the symptoms return they are worse than before. Nasal spray just creates a vicious cycle.

I always found that steam helps me. I boil a pot of water and put a towel over my head and breath in the steam. Mint tea and spicy food helps too. If you can stand it, try chewing on a hot pepper. A hot pepper clears me up every time, but I have to have a glass of water on standby for this treatment.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!

1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.

2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.

The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.

After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net

Ohhh..and Good Luck!

Seconded on salt water. The following sounds gross, but it works!

Either sniff some warm salt solution straight from your hand, or use something like a turkey baster to shoot the solution straight up your nose. It will help clear away the mucus which is making breathing difficult. As the salt water trickles down either let it run out your nose, or spit it out (sorry, said it was gross).

If you have not seen a doctor I would suggest you do so. It could be a problem which can be helped medically. If you are taking an over the counter spray you could be making things worse. Some sprays can actually cause damage to the nasal tissues if used long term (they are not designed for long term use). Breathe in steam from a bowl with a towel over your head. get some menthol crystals from the chemist and put in 1 crystal to make the steam more useful

most over the counter nasal sprays can be addicting as they cause a phenonemon called rebound congestion so that becomes problematic. try just using a normal saline spray like ocean spray. you can get this at walmart or the supermarket. it is dirt cheap and you can't really overuse it. it should help the problem. if it persists, you should see your doctor. i have horrible sinuses and something else that works for me is pepermint oil...just a few drops on a tissue.

I know of one, but you might not like it.

My grandfather uses just straight salt water - tilt your head back and drip it into your nose. Works pretty well.

If you have more than just a stuffy head - a posible sinus infection, then our applied kinesiologist reccomends this:

2 teaspoons of apple cide vinegar - must be this kind
1/2 teaspoon of salt
4 ounces of warm water

Mix together and snuff it up your nose.

Burns, tastes nasty, but it surely clears the infection!

I can suggest using reflexology. You can use your feet to do this or your hands. If using your feet, then hold one foot and with your fingers and thumb of the other hand, gently press around the roots of all your toes. Gradually work with your fingers up to the top of each toe, in a gentle massage/pressing action. Then finish with the big toe, by pressing your thumb into your toe and 'walking' your thumb all over the whole big toe area. If it is easier for you to use your hand, then using the thumb over the other hand, walk your thumb along the base of all the fingers, and up each finger to the tip, and then back down again. This will help relieve a stuffy, blocked up nose, and is also good for relieving headaches

If you can get hold of any Ammonium Hydroxide, that'll clear it in no time. Or Olibas oil which is a natural remedy.
