Well, i think more men than women like it, but there are tons of women that love it too. I personally love it. Its just the classic battle of good vs. evil, people struggling to find themselves and not get lost along the way, not knowing all the time which is right and which is wrong. A lot of the jedi philosophies are similar to that of martial arts. It has plenty of twist in the plot, good love story, tragidy, triumph, victory, defeat, action, comedy and many, many other characteristics of a great movie. As far as the originals they were so popular not only for these reasons, but also because they were so far ahead of their time. i personally like the originals more than the new ones although i find the new ones to be really good too. I think that people love star wars so much for any one or combination of the reasons i listed.

OK, I will tell you. First off it is pretty much for guys... it takes a really cool chick to like star wars. The thing is people that don't get star wars just look at it like it is about people fighting wars in space...nothing could be further from the truth.
Star Wars is actually a religious movie, it's about good versus evil, also about the underdog overcoming insurmountable odds.
Also there is a big father and son story going on between Luke and Darth Vader that girls just don't understand.
Throw in aliens, space ships and swords that are like lasers and it's pretty much everything a guy could want from a movie.

I think the original trilogy (as well as the special editions) are entertaining movies that balances action/adventure/fantasy/sci-fi...
The new trilogy doesn't have strong storytelling, acting, or a sense of what made the originals so good...(one of which were characters you cared about).
I can understand if someone being introduced to Star Wars came in on 'The Phantom Menace'...
Skip episodes 1-3 and enjoy 4-6...(If Star Wars happens to not be your cup of tea, you might find another franchise that suits ya)...

For that to paintings, you will would desire to placed it after the Legacy of the stress sequence, reason good after NJO there is the darkish Nest Trilogy, Then good after that there is the Legacy of the stress books. the belief sounds exciting and that i'd probably examine it b/c i like action picture star wars. i theory there became a e book with a depressing shadow interior the call too, yet there is in basic terms a depressing stress turning out to be and a Shadows of the Empire, that are patently no longer a depressing Shadow or darkish Shadow turning out to be.

It's not a male film. I really enjoy the original trilogy they're so much fun to watch. I'm not as big of a fan of the new ones though.

I compare it to Elvis. Don't like the material, but I recognize the fact that they both had major impacts on their respective art forms.
Unfortunately, the result was for movies to focus on special effects instead of the actors/plot.
And Elvis stole his music from black entertainers....
