I WILL SAY NO!!!! After all Boise is from the WAC! Nothing against the WAC but the WAC is a sort of weak conference compared to the other conferences that play big time schools and have challenging schedules. I should know the WAC because one of my teams are in the WAC (Hawaii). Boise if in the playoffs I feel that they could not keep up with the other conferences. Yes they played a good game against Oklahoma and yes they won. But the only reason why they went undefeated in the first place I mean look at the competition. How hard is it to beat Idaho, Utah State and so on. The only real competition was Hawaii and that game went down to the last whistle and just as predicted who ever ended with the ball last would win the game. So in my opinion Boise is not my champion of choice. They played good to where they got and they deserved that win but as we learned not always an undefeated record means that you win a title! If so tell that to those in the past Utah, Auburn and so on!

People really are retarted. The NCAA designates 6 confrences (Big east, big 12, acc, pac 10, big 10, and sec.) to play in the National Championship. I DON'T THINK I MENTIONED THE WAC!!!!! Florida is the National champion, and if u can't get that through ur thick heads, then don't talk about college football. If u can't beat San Jose State by more than 3 points, u shouldn't even play in a bowl game.

There should be a playoff in college football!! Boise State should have had a shot at the championship. Though I think they would have lost to either Ohio St. or Florida and/or USC or Michigan. But they could have surprised the nation.

Sorry, but this is a joke, right? Boise State would have been lucky to go 9-4 in a BCS conference.

No they aren't MY National Champion. Under the OLD System OSU would have played USC and likely beat them. It would have been the Rose Bowl. If OSU can beat USC then we don't talk about who is undefeated because clearly Ohio State was better by schedule. It isn't OHIO either, it is OHIO STATE. Although if you knew College Football you would know that. As to who OSU played they played Michigan(BCS Bowl game) they played Penn State(also played in one of top tier Bowl games). Heck BSU got LUCKY, anytime you convert 4th down TWICE plus win on the 2 pt conversion in the second overtime it is LUCK. They wouldn't have had a chance against Florida.
The question was who did OSU PLAY. At that point Michigan was still undefeated and ranked number 2. So they DID PLAY MICHIGAN. We aren't getting into what the teams did in their Bowl games. If you want to get into that thought then hell hand the Championship to Louisville because they won the Big East, which was the only Confrence to go undefeated in Bowl Games with a 5-0 record. That would be rather silly wouldn't it? Well you want to base it on Bowl games though. IF BSU OUTPLAYED Oklahoma, to entertain that it "wasn't luck" and football BTW is a game of luck as well as skill, then why did it go to a second OT? Why did they have to win on a two point conversion? Come on they "outplayed" Oklahoma. Now if Oklahoma hadn't had that win stolen from them would they have even been playing BSU? What if Oregon had lost that game by the OFFICAL record as well? What if by a twist of fate it would have been Oklahoma in the National Title Game, based on they beat Oregon and don't stumble late which is pushing it? Heck what if Oklahoma just gets by enough to not be playing BSU? Then who would BSU play and could they beat that team. My point still goes back to another thing. In the OLD SYSTEM OSU would play USC in the Rose Bowl. I don't know why we are so sure that just because USC beat Michigan that means they would beat OSU. Florida is totally out of the equation in the OLD SYSTEM. The Pac-10 champ meets the Big 10 champ in the Rose Bowl.

No they were not. Undefeated playing the WAC schedule does not a national champion make.

To me, they were. They went undefeated, didn't they? They deserved it. To the person above me, OSU and Michigan...they both lost! haha...and Michigan lost to a team (USC) that lost to TWO below average teams (Oregon State and UCLA). Boise State didn't get lucky, those guys went undefeated and they beat a tough team. They BEAT Oklahoma because they played better not because they got lucky.
Go Bruins!!
