If that person is the only one that makes you feel sane in the world (but you know you can never be with that person) even by thinking, is it ok to every once and a while think about that person to feel sane and ok, or should i just try to completely forget and try as hard as possible to keep it inside?... This is true love.... I really dont know what i should do.

Get over it as soon as possible.

You never know what would have become of the 2 of you.
You might think it would be all fun and games, but that is never the case.
Odds are, that later in life you could turn psycho from your fantasy world dreams. I know. I did it. I even gave up on the love. It was just an illusion.

Get back to reality. Get over it and move on.

Of course it is. In the name of sanity! As long as you are not obsessed and dont start stalking the person. You should feel no guilt about thinking about them.

neither repression nor obsession is healthy so it would all comes down to what your definition of linger is...
if you hold on to theis person as your only chance of sanity then you are missin out on life and other people...
if you are merely occasionally reminicing (bad spelling today) then that is perfectly healthy...
