Let me first respond to the comment that Natives mary more than one wife. This is actually a popular stereotype created be colonizers. Most Native tribes were matriarchies meaning that women had the influence when it came to marriage. The man would go live with her tribe/clan. All tribes respected women and held them as equals, a women always had the choice who she would marry. If a tribe did allow for more than one marrage per household then it was usually a marriage of convience. For example, a man and woman are married and the women's sister is widowed then the man may marry her to help support her and her kids. They still wouldn't share the marriage bed if you know what I mean. And the original wife would have a say in this decision.
To say that the Comanches were very brutal is also a misconception in a way. Think about it. A bunch of strangers committ Genocide on your people, rape and kill the women and children and get money for it, steal your way of life, I think you'd be pretty angry as well.
And why don't a lot of people recognize Native History month. There are a lot of reasons for that.
- Native people are mostly invincible, when people talk about the main races they often forget Natives. Some people believe that Native people are extinct, seriousally
- Brining up Native history hurts because then people have to face the rough and brutal foundation of this nation
- Racism still exists today. Native people, for example, have the highest poverty rates (by no fault of their own)
- Abundant stereotypes still exist about Native people so people do not take this culture serioiusally and as respectable.
I am Native by the way

Um, Indians weren't uncivilized. the in trouble-free terms aspect that whites deliver is ailment, rape, and laziness. Whites have destroyed the attractive land that grow to be shared through the indigenous pre-columbian people and grew to grow to be it right into a sad, criminal infested position the position laziness and leisure is glorified. many people will argue this, yet Mexicans are community people. once you get right down to it, in case you fairly prefer to question this, all you need to do is inspect THEM. Land belongs to no one. i'm Mexican, i'm proud to be who i'm, yet anybody who claims this or the different land as theirs is faulty. The Nican Tlaca of this continent did not see land as a possesion, quite, they referred to it as a blessing that they ought to percentage as travelers. also, one aspect that no one looks at at the same time as talking about unlawful immigration, is that the equipment for growing to be a legal citizen is arbitrary. no longer because it takes so long, no longer because it is often situations success of the draw, yet because people born in the U. S. not in any respect ought to fulfill the criteria had to stay in "their personal u . s .." shall we face it, many unlawful immigrants do not should be the following, some would say NONE of them do. besides the undeniable fact that, mutually there are a number of of u . s . voters that do not should be the following. also, i do not consider the question. no one is GIVING unlawful immigrants some thing. opposite to favourite idea, they don't receive welfare or area 8 sponsored housing. Mexicans basically prefer to make certain what each and each and every of the fuss is about in the U. S.. fairly, considering maximum of you've not in any respect possibly been to Mexico, the U. S. is a sorry position to stay. the colleges are sub-par, the inhabitants for the most area is more beneficial ignorant than in different international locations, and it has a unusual way of worthwhile criminals and doing no longer some thing to help its solid, honest, troublesome operating people.
