All tribes respected women and held them as equals, a women always had the choice who she would marry. If a tribe did allow for more than one marrage per household then it was usually a marriage of convience. For example, a man and woman are married and the women's sister is widowed then the man may marry her to help support her and her kids. They still wouldn't share the marriage bed if you know what I mean. And the original wife would have a say in this decision.

To say that the Comanches were very brutal is also a misconception in a way. Think about it. A bunch of strangers committ Genocide on your people, rape and kill the women and children and get money for it, steal your way of life, I think you'd be pretty angry as well.

And why don't a lot of people recognize Native History month. There are a lot of reasons for that.

- Abundant stereotypes still exist about Native people so people do not take this culture serioiusally and as respectable.
